HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program)

• Heap provides assistance with the cost of heating (in winter) or cooling (in summer) to low income households
• This program also provides emergency benefits for households in a heat-related emergency 
• Individuals may be eligible for regular HEAP even if they have resources.

You can apply for HEAP in one of the following ways:

• Online – visit https://mybenefits.ny.gov/
• By visiting Schuyler County Department of Social Services and request an application - 323 Owego Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865
• Through an alternate certifier – Economic Opportunity Program (EOP) – 112 6^th Street, Watkins Glen, NY 14891
• Mailing in a completed application – Send to:  Schuyler County Department of Social Services – 323 Owego Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865
• Faxing a completed application – (607) 535-6855
• Placing a completed application in the night drop box located outside the Human Services Complex at 323 Owego Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865
