Schuyler County Public Health is dedicated to the prevention of cancer. We are a part of the Cancer Services Program of the Southern Tier and offer referrals for cancer screenings and education about the prevention of cancers.


Cancer Screenings

New York State Cancer Services Program partners with Schuyler County to offer free cancer screenings! Eligible clients are able to received clinical breast exams, mammograms, Pap tests and colorectal cancer screening through fecal tests. Clients receiving positive screening tests also receive diagnostic testing and are referred to treatment if needed. Eligible clients are also enrolled in the Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program for Medicaid coverage for the duration of their breast, cervical, colorectal or prostate cancer treatment. Local Cancer Resources

Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes- A local organization serving individuals in and around Tompkins County, NY. They serve women and men of all cancer types. www.crcfl.net

T-Burg Takes on Pediatric Cancer- Focuses its community outreach efforts on helping to make a difference in the lives of children who have been diagnosed with cancer and to assist their families in their time of great struggle.  It is thier goal to engage the community and help raise awareness and funds to support both families and scientific research to help find a cure for the various forms of pediatric cancer. http://tburgtakesonpediatric.com/

Live Like Liz- Promotes awareness of ovarian cancer. By providing information about the symptoms, risks, early detection and prevention to both women and health care professionals, they hope to increase the survival rate for women diagnosed with this ovarian cancer. The education fund was created in loving memory of Elizabeth Amisano, a vivacious, selfless young woman who passed away due to ovarian cancer at only 20 years old. https://livelikeliz.org/

Arnot Health Cancer Patient Support Services

Cleaning for a Reason-
 A nonprofit organization that serves all the United States and Canada. Their mission is to give the gift of free house cleaning to women undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Their goal is to let these brave and strong women focus on their health and treatment while they focus on, and take away the worry and work of, cleaning their homes– free of charge.-https://cleaningforareason.org/

American Cancer Society-
On a mission to free the world from cancer. Until they do, they will be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention. All so people can live longer — and better.
